Happy August! Happy Leo season! This month we’re called to do deeper internal work that reflects the ways in which we fight for Black lives, Trans lives, disabled lives, and any intersections we may occupy in our personal lives (and how that translates to the political). Hop in bitches cuz we’re working on finding our/your place, self-transformation, and learning to navigate life. We’re stepping into/remembering our power, honoring the power of our emotions and emotional selves, and livingly abundantly in various levels of self-love and self-accountability. 😉 Sit in/with the sun this month and let it inspire and warm you.
THE DECK
For these tarot messages, I used the Next World Tarot. This deck was illustrated, written, and self-published by Christy C. Road, a Cuban artist from Miami, FL. The illustrations are set in a post-apocalyptic world which feels appropriate given our current state. The deck details themes of justice, resilience, accountability, and reclaimed magic. The interpretations and illustrations are anti-capitalist, anti-hierarchical, and non-gendered. This deck really beautifully illustrates how Black, brown, dis/abled, fat, queer, Trans, and gender-nonconforming folx move through and create a more compassionate, radical world.
THE SPREAD
For this month’s tarot forecast, I’m pulling one card for each element: Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. Read the element that corresponds to your sun sign, and rising sign if you feel called to. Below is the element that corresponds to your sun sign. To find out your natal chart information, CafeAstrology has a pretty comprehensive chart interpretation.
Earth:
Capricorn, Virgo, Taurus
Air:
Libra, Aquarius, Gemini,
Water:
Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
Fire:
Aries, Leo, Sagitarrius
Each card interpretation also lists the numerological energy of the card and ways to channel the energy of the card. For cards that are double digits, you add to get a single digit. For example, card #13 has #4 vibrations (1+3=4).
Hold onto that which resonates. Share this with those who come to mind as you read this.
The Elements

EARTH
Justice
#11 Vibrations: duality, choices, insight
What’s your gut response to injustice? Who are you fighting for? How do you bring beauty, pleasure, and connection to the revolution? Tap into ancestral knowledge and traditions as you do this work. Spend time with those in your pod. Remember that healing, rest, and connection are crucial in engaging in revolutionary, sustainable movements. Justice is about connecting to the root of movement, fully practicing what you believe in. Justice is accountability. It’s the lessons you learn now, it affects the life you experience. Elevate voices from the margins. Share your power with those who need it. Practice self-love against all odds. Let go of toxic ways of thinking that affect your personal power, while being accountable to your role in dismantling said toxic shit. Own your mistakes and do the work to find where they stem from (Patriarchy? Racism? Capitalism? Trauma?) Navigate your privilege with awareness and compassion. Question and figure out your role in the revolution. Justice is finding a space where you can expect safety in wisdom. Justice is knowing the feeling of home: that you’re worthy of life, love, validation, and autonomy.

AIR
King of Cups
“Throne of Movement”
Card Vibrations: stability that comes from knowing your emotional self
Allow yourself to feel your emotions without judgment. The King knows things must be felt before moving on. Spend time in or near water. Allow it to cleanse your spirit/energy. Let it renew you. (Especially given last month’s card for Air signs, Death from the Neo Tarot.) The King is the space between gentle and tough love. She engages logic while maintaining a soft, open heart. She fights for unlimited access to her highest/remembered self. This month, instigate balance. Navigate intellect and emotion without demeaning your own or anyone else’s humanity. Articulate your wounds and vulnerabilities–literally say them aloud–to watch them heal. Be fully present in everything you do, especially in matters of emotions and creations. They will eventually hold you. We are the masters of our success. Honor your gifts while you embrace your inner King.

FIRE
7 of Swords
“Escape”
#7 Vibrations: victory, risk taking, experimentation
Time to shine babe! You’re either on your way out, or making it out of a toxic situation, whether that’s a physical place or person, or working things out on an emotional or mental level. How far have you come? What have you learned on this journey? What’s your rest stop? Your destination? Walk away from people, places, coping mechanisms, toxic behaviors, oppressive thought patterns that don’t serve you; ones that don’t align with the ways in which we’re radically shifting our lives and the work we do. Don’t let your anxieties get the best of you. Don’t let notions of what beauty and/or lifestyle consume you to the point of not recognizing yourself. The 7 of Swords learned how to evade disaster. She questioned her actions multiple times, and multiple times came to the conclusion to do things her way. Be mindful as you do the same. Make compromises and question which bridges are being burned. Only you know how to find solutions that work for you. Confide in someone you trust or a therapist, but know this is your work to do. Put on your best and take it all in

WATER
Queen of Wands
“Throne of Determination”
Card energy: strength, passionate & enthusiastic satisfaction
What helps you embody your power? Adorn your body in ways that channel this energy. Bring your inner diva out to play. The Queen of Wands is a survivor. Her healing informs her wisdom, her wisdom induces courage. She doesn’t wait for approval or hide behind the rules. She shines like the fire of the sun and chaos of nature. A trailblazer: her art aligns with her truth. Her connection to the earth is ancient but static with urgency. Stay ready sweet water signs. Let the heat of the sun raise your temperature. What does it take for you to engage your passions? Do you need to take a pause? Do so then! Be patient. Water doesn’t boil the minute you turned the burner on. Let your intuition guide your way through this. You deserve every step it takes to achieve greatness. Be confident in your abilities to meet your goals and in your interactions with people. Ask for security where you need it, but know that security also resides within your spirit.
